Our Latest Adventures-

We took Sofia to the Phoenix Zoo before the summer comes and drives most Arizonians to seek the retreats of air conditioned rooms or the refreshing pool side seats. She loves the zoo. She enjoys seeing the animals and mimicking their sounds. These were some of her favorite animals-

Just like her Daddy, Sofie loves to see the reptiles and froggies!

It's too cute to watch Nick show her things that he was amazed to learn about when he was a kid.  Nick is so proud to see her interested in the same things!

It's amazing, the zoo has these Peacocks roaming around freely.  This was right near us as we were eating lunch.

Sofie was so excited to ride the tour train.  The train took us through the zoo and pointed out all the sights.

Sofie could not stop "rrroaring" at the lion...even though the poor thing was tring to relax.

And here is only of my favorite animal exhibits to see.  These animals are magnificent!
The highlight for Sofie was the "water spout" area.  She was a little nervous at first, but our girl always comes around.

Sofie was not too impressed with the monkey exhibits...

but this on the other hand...she LOVED!
all in all, a GREAT DAY!!!

Here is a picture of me and my baby girl having fun at Target...gotta love the cheap sun hats.  SO SILLY!

Last weekend, Nick's Mom and Dad invited us to a local "ghost town" named Goldfield.  It was an old mining camp back in the 1800's and now is just a local tourist attraction.  Here are some pictures of us riding the Goldfield Train.

Nice view of the Superstition Mountains

It's crazy to think that in seven short months our small family of three will change drastically. I am nervous at times and yet overjoyed for the blessing! I'm confident that Nick and I will be able to overcome any obstacle that comes our way. Each day I am more and more thankful for all Nick does! He has become such an amazing father and an amazing husband and I appreciate him more and more each day! Thanks SWEETIE!!!

Our Growing Family

Decisions, decisions!! Nick and I are facing some things that quite honestly; we never really thought we would need to think about. The functionality of dual tandem strollers, multiple car seats, mini vans, two daycare tabs (which is more expensive than I ever realized) and redecorating the spare room ….ugh!!!

Believe it or not there was a time when Nick and I said kids were not “our thing”. I grew up in a large Mexican family and always seemed to be either holding, babysitting or changing a newborn. I enjoyed seeing them smile with pure innocence, the smell of baby lotion and holding the tightly wrapped bundles of joy. And then, once they starting crying that inevitably turned into full blown screaming I was always relieved to hand them off to their parents….Being "childless" I enjoyed the freedom. The freedom to travel, stay out late, sleep in until noon or just grab my purse and go.

When Nick and I found out we were expecting for the first time, we were excited, scared, somewhat confident and yet terrified out of our minds. For 9 months we enjoyed experiencing all the changes associated with pregnancy, both physically and mentally.  Watching our life change slightly and then drastically shift once Sofie was born was an eye opener. All in all, my pregnancy was fun. I enjoyed working in the kitchen while pregnant (made it all the way past my due date), sharing stories and getting pointers from my family and friends on what to do and, more importantly what not to do.

The first year with Sofie was an eye opener and now that we are moving forward toward our third year!! WOW, amazing!! Nick and I are confident that we have the ability to take care of the next addition but logistically, that’s where it gets a little fuzzy and gray. So…back to “the functionality of dual tandem strollers, multiple car seats, mini vans, two daycare tabs (which is more expensive than I ever realized) and redecorating the spare room ….” Double ugh!!! So what do I do when I get into a stressed situation? ORGANIZE, PLAN, and then ORGANIZE the PLAN! I’ve found some awesome websites and blogs to help out with the upcoming purchases but, if there are any other websites, tricks, tips or other smart mommy tips for managing two babies that you guys might know about…pass em’ on! Trust me, I think I’m gonna need em’!

March-mania!!

February and March came and went and now April...it snuck up on us! We’ve been keeping busy and enjoying the best weather in Arizona. In February we celebrated Nick’s birthday! As a gift to Nick, I bought him tickets to WWE Wrestle Mania 26. Nick counted down the days and when the time came for us to head to Glendale to the University of Phoenix Stadium, he was excited beyond belief!
A good friend of mine came out along with his brother and step son to watch the WWE in all its pyrotechnic, smoke-filled magic! We got to the stadium early enough to experience ALL the excitement and get in a good session of people watching. Let’s just say, it was VERY entertaining!

These are some of the "characters" that we came across...costumes could use some work!

This is the start of the night!

I must admit, seeing all the wrestlers...it was pretty cool!

It's just not WWE wrestling without the sparks or Vince McMahon

Here are few of Nick's Favorite wrestlers entrances-

This is one of Nick's favorite guys- "Santino"

It was a great night! It's weird how much you value a night out when you can get one!

Here is one of Nick's friends dressed up as "Hulk Hogan"

All in all, it was a great experience! Nick has been a fan of WWE/WWF since he was a kid and he continues to enjoy watching by himself and now with Sofie. It's too cute seeing the two of them sit on the couch and cheer on their "guy" as Sofie refers to them. Thanks again for a terrific night!
