Decisions, decisions!! Nick and I are facing some things that quite honestly; we never really thought we would need to think about. The functionality of dual tandem strollers, multiple car seats, mini vans, two daycare tabs (which is more expensive than I ever realized) and redecorating the spare room ….ugh!!!
Believe it or not there was a time when Nick and I said kids were not “our thing”. I grew up in a large Mexican family and always seemed to be either holding, babysitting or changing a newborn. I enjoyed seeing them smile with pure innocence, the smell of baby lotion and holding the tightly wrapped bundles of joy. And then, once they starting crying that inevitably turned into full blown screaming I was always relieved to hand them off to their parents….Being "childless" I enjoyed the freedom. The freedom to travel, stay out late, sleep in until noon or just grab my purse and go.
When Nick and I found out we were expecting for the first time, we were excited, scared, somewhat confident and yet terrified out of our minds. For 9 months we enjoyed experiencing all the changes associated with pregnancy, both physically and mentally. Watching our life change slightly and then drastically shift once Sofie was born was an eye opener. All in all, my pregnancy was fun. I enjoyed working in the kitchen while pregnant (made it all the way past my due date), sharing stories and getting pointers from my family and friends on what to do and, more importantly what not to do.
The first year with Sofie was an eye opener and now that we are moving forward toward our third year!! WOW, amazing!! Nick and I are confident that we have the ability to take care of the next addition but logistically, that’s where it gets a little fuzzy and gray. So…back to “the functionality of dual tandem strollers, multiple car seats, mini vans, two daycare tabs (which is more expensive than I ever realized) and redecorating the spare room ….” Double ugh!!! So what do I do when I get into a stressed situation? ORGANIZE, PLAN, and then ORGANIZE the PLAN! I’ve found some awesome websites and blogs to help out with the upcoming purchases but, if there are any other websites, tricks, tips or other smart mommy tips for managing two babies that you guys might know about…pass em’ on! Trust me, I think I’m gonna need em’!
