I'm ready for the wild ride!

Here I am just about 7 weeks pregnant and feeling good so far!! The sickness has worn off for the most part but the tiredness lingers like a pesky friend. I am drinking TONS of water and trying to remember to take my prenatal vitamins each day…I’ve never been much of a pill taker. I am watching what I eat and really mindful of all those pregnancy rules. I broke out all the familiar books..."What to Expect When Your Expecting and "Your Pregnancy Week by Week". These two books got me through the pregnancy with Sofia and I continue to learn new things. I still don't think I am showing yet but look forward to the true beginning of pregnancy. So far I have not really had any crazy cravings...I normally really don't. I do have aversions to food though~ anything with buffalo hot wing sauce makes me want to vomit. Creamy salad dressings or really sweet desserts...yuck! I do want frozen fruit, fresh fruit and Starbucks Chai tea. It's crazy to thing just how much our bodies change and the emotional rollercoaster we mommies go through.

On another note...Nick and I went to our first Doctors appointment last week and went through the familiar motions. As mentioned before, Nick and I decided to stay with the same doctor that delivered Sofia. At our appointment, Nick took the day off to spend quality “Daddy time” with Sofia and then meet me at my doctor’s appointment. Dr. Tamanaha was so excited to meet Sofia. Two years after delivering her, he said it’s always nice to meet the little ones.

He gave us our preliminary due date of November 15 2010- we will have a better idea of the due date after our first ultrasound next week and hopefully, get our first picture of our little baby.

Nick and I are getting excited to start the whole pregnancy thing again. We are looking at new nursery stuff and getting ready to tackle the spare room and baby it up!

The big question…what are we going to have, a boy or a girl? What do you guys think?

Add another to the Allen bunch!

WILL IT BE A BOY OR GIRL???

It's still a bit early...but Nick and I are so excited to announce, we are expecting another baby! We are really excited to start this chapter in our lives and bring another child into the world. Sofie has been such an amazing kid! We LOVE experiencing life through her eyes- we are anxious to see her play the "big sister" role. I must admit, I'm a bit nervous and have the normal apprehensions about having a newborn again.  They are so fragile and vulnerable! I guess it's like riding a bike...once you've done it; it's not something you forget?

Nick and I have saved a lot of stuff from when Sofie was a baby...clothes, blankets and some of the other necessities. It's going to be a little strange though...having two car seats, two seat strollers and doing the whole bottle feeding and baby routine all over again. It's been really nice sleeping and being on our routine for the last two years! Raising a newborn is something that Nick and I have pushed to the back of our minds.

We haven't given any thoughts about wanting a boy or a girl...we just want a happy and healthy little one. We are planning on going with the same doctor that delivered Sofie- he was a wonderful doctor and really made us feel at ease! I am hoping and praying for the same easy going pregnancy.  When I was pregnant with Sofie, it was so easy and enjoyable (well at the end I just wanted it to be over)!

Nick and I really gave a lot of thought about having another child- it's something that has taken about a year to decide! We both really wanted to give Sofie a sibling. Someone to grow up with and share their secrets with or plot against me and Nick...ha ha ha! I grew up with two siblings and now really enjoy the relationship that I have with my sister and brother.  Thank you Kalani for being there for me and my family! I am really glad that you and the girls are back in town and will be a part of this pregnancy!

YO GABBA GABBA PARTY SPECTACULAR!!

There was a party, party in our neighborhood last weekend! Our little Sofia turned 2 years old! This year we decided to make our little girl the happiest girl in town and throw her a birthday bash she would LOVE and one that she would recognize…Yo Gabba Gabba style! Yo Gabba Gabba is one of her favorite shows and she’s been a fan for some time! Nick and I ordered and to be quite honest, where AMAZED at the price of Yo Gabba Gabba party decorations! We bought all the yummy food and came up with a menu that would not only please the adults but satisfy the little ones too!

Our good friends, Eddie and Bianca drove all the way from California just for the big party. One of their gifts for Sofia was a piƱata they picked up just for her! Sofia LOVED IT!

We chopped, peeled, cooked and prepped for the party all night! Thanks to Bianca for helping out in the kitchen while all guys put together Sofia’s birthday present.

The big day of the party, the cake was done and the presents were wrapped. He all headed over to the park and began to decorate in the bright and vivid Gabba Colors. Sofia’s Uncle Bryan painted a terrific mural with all the Gabba characters. It turned out so great!
Thanks again Bryan!

Nick made this whole party happen! Thanks sweetie for being such a great Daddy!
We had a professional "Grill Master" manning the BBQ- On the menu, hotdogs with all the fixin's...chili & cheese or sauerkraut and spicy mustard. The food turned out FABULOUS as well as the appetizers!
As one of Sofia's birthday presents, we decided to rent her a giant jump house.  This was only the second time Sofie had ever been in one of these...she LOVED IT!  Here is Sofie's Nonnie, helping her into the jumper.

Sofie has such a great time being the "birthday girl"!

Along with jump houses and playing on the playground, we had a designated art table.  We had tons of paints, Playdough, crayons, chalk...the kids loved it and had such a great time being creative.

This is one of Sofia's favorite things to do!!

After the kids were done with the arts and crafts- it was PINATA TIME!!
Here is Sofia's Papa and Ba-Pa getting the Pinata ready-

Here is Nick trying to teach her what to do.
GO SOFIE GO!!!
Here is Sofie handing off the stick to her cousin, Arianna-
Here is Zoe taking a whack at Tootie-
And then once all the kids had a chance to hit Tootie (which was a little weird smacking one of the characters Sofie loves so much...) the candy flooded the playground!

Even some of the adults wanted to get their portions of candy!
This is what was left of Tootie-

YAY!! Present time! Thanks for all the great gifts everyone! Sofie loved everything!
I think Sofie was more interested in the wrapping paper~

Sofia's favorite gift of the day- was the one her Daddy bought for her! She loves riding her bike!

After presents, it was cake time! I made my signature chocolate cake with passion fruit filling and classic buttercream! IT WAS A HIT!!

After all the birthday festivities were over it was time to get back into the jumper...

Here is Nonnie and Ba-Pa-
Here is Nanna and Papa with Uncle Ryan
