We have ourselves a CRIB!

This weekend was a big step for us. Nick and my Dad put together the first piece of Sofia’s bedroom furniture…her crib! After having the carpet replaced that morning we just could not wait to assemble the crib. We’ve had it for weeks and could not take seeing the massive box sit in the garage any longer!

We have not started the “decorating” just yet. Painting and the “spiffing up” will eventually come.

Nick and I did however, do some detective work and dug up his baby box filled with all sorts of precious little treats. We found his baby blanket, baby mobile, baptismal outfit and an adorable hand knitted outfit we decided Sofie will come home in. Here are some pictures of our finds.

Here is Nick, posing next to his handy work...all done with the good ol' Allen wrench!
It took all I had to keep Nick from crawling in there and taking a nap with all of Sofie's soon to be friends.

We will continue to post pictures as her rooms comes along.

How awesome! I can't wait to see Sophia in the outfit. That is incredibly special, Tina. Good job on the crib, Nick! Now, just make sure Sophia actually sleeps in it. You'll be glad you did.

Shoot! I spelled her name wrong. Sorry! SOFIA!

Hey, Nick and Tina: I happened onto your blog as I was going through some old e-mail. Glad to hear everything is going well for all three of you. It's nice to see that you're ready for Sofia three months before she comes home. Nothing like being prepared. I thought you might like to know that we woke up to 9 degrees earlier this week. It doesn't seem like winter yet because the snow hasn't come, but it will soon. Then we'll once again envy you guys for transplanting to Arizona. Nick: We might come sometime this winter to see my dad in Mesa; if so I'll give a call so we can meet for lunch or something.

For now, enjoy your time, and good luck as you prepare for the new arrival.
